Who Operates This Site: The Company, the Founder and the Dates

One company does both. everestbasecamp.tours is an entity of Nepal Unique Treks and Expedition Pvt Ltd, a licensed trekking operator whose registered office is at 16 Sorhakhutte, Thamel, Kathmandu. Same company, same guides, one route.

There is nobody in between. We are not an affiliate, we are not a reseller, and we are not a marketing site that sells your trip on to a Kathmandu company you never chose. An inquiry sent from this site reaches the operator that holds the permits, books the Lukla seats and puts a guide on the trail with you.

That is worth stating because you cannot tell by looking. A great many Everest sites are built by people who have never stood in Lukla. The test is simple. Ask any site you are reading for its license number and the name of the company that will actually run the trek. Ours are on this page, and the numbers link to somebody else’s database rather than to a picture we made.

One route deserves one site that answers it completely. That is the whole reason this domain exists.

Our main site, nepaluniquetreks.com, covers everything the company runs. A site with that job has to be a little bit right about a great many things. This one only has to be exactly right about one walk, from the first question about fitness to the last line of the cost breakdown.

There is a second reason and it is less comfortable. Some of what our own older marketing published about this trek did not survive being checked. Permit fees were understated. One product page carried more than one price for the same trip. A review count was higher than the profile it came from. This site is where the checked version gets published, and where we correct our own record in public instead of quietly. The rule that decides what may appear is on the editorial policy page.

This site has been live since 9 August 2026. The company behind it has been registered since 21 October 20141. We keep those two dates apart on purpose. A new site does not make an old company, and an old company does not make a new site accurate.

We run the walk to Everest Base Camp from Kathmandu back to Kathmandu with our own people. That means we hold the permits, we book the Lukla flights, and a guide from our own team walks every day of the route with you.

It also means we set the pacing, and we set it the same way every time. Every Everest Base Camp itinerary we sell carries two acclimatization days, one at Namche Bazaar (3,440 m (11,286 ft)) and one at Dingboche (4,410 m (14,469 ft)). Acclimatization means giving your body time to get used to less oxygen before you climb higher. We will not sell a version of this trek without those two days, and if you ask for a shorter one we will tell you plainly what it costs you.

The company was registered on 21 October 20141. That date is published by the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal on a member record we do not host and cannot edit.

We do not claim decades of company experience, because the company was registered on the date above and that date is the whole of its history. Some of our own older pages did make a claim like that, and it was wrong. The long guiding careers on this team belong to named people, each with their own start year. The next two sections set out three of them, one person at a time.

One more date needs saying out loud. A copyright line on our main site starts earlier than the registration and we cannot source it to a document. Until somebody shows us one, the registration date is the only founding date this site publishes.

There is nothing else in the timeline, because nothing else is documented well enough to put here. When a document turns up, the row goes in and the date we added it goes in beside it.

Dil Bahadur Gurung has guided in Nepal since 2004. He founded this company in 2014, and his role here is Founder and team leader.

The Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal lists him on the company member record as Key Person1. That is a third party naming him rather than us naming ourselves, which is why it is the strongest single line on this page.

What you will not find here is anything about him we cannot show you. No summit list, no certificate we do not hold, and no round figure standing in for a real one.

He is also not the only long career in the building, which is the next section.

Dil Bahadur Gurung is not the only one. Buddhi Lama has guided since 2004 and Partap Gurung has guided since 2004, which is the year the founder started as well. Three careers, three names, three dates you can put to the people themselves when you meet them.

Read those two middle columns separately, because they are two different things. The first is a person’s own career and it belongs to that person. The second is a date at this company. Buddhi Lama has been here since 2014, which is the year the company was registered. Partap Gurung joined in 2017, years after his own career began.

Here is the rule that keeps those columns apart, and it is the one most of this market breaks. A career belongs to a person and carries that person’s start date. A founding date belongs to a business. Neither borrows the other’s number. Letting them borrow is exactly how a founder’s guiding career turns into a company age on a hundred websites, including, for a while, ours.

Three careers beginning in 2004 is a harder claim to make than a rounded company figure, and a much easier one to check. Every part of it is attached to a person you can ask for by name. The company age is not a number this site publishes at all, because the registration date above already says everything true about it.

10 people are named with a role. The roles below are the ones our own records hold, and nothing has been added to make a line read better.

Arjun Gurung’s is a formal qualification we can name exactly, with the school that awarded it: Bachelor's in tourism, Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management.

Three of the people in that table have a dated guiding career on the record, and those are set out in the section above. Every one of them, all 10, has a photograph and a short bio on the page about the people on our team. Each bio line there is a checkable one, a year, a qualification, a language or a region, with the person’s own bio page as its source.

Two things you will not find here are individual guide license numbers and first aid certificates. The license numbers sit inside document scans that we have not transcribed into text yet. The certificates are ours to collect before they are ours to claim. Publishing either one early would be a claim you could not check, which is the thing this site exists not to do.

Every page on this site is published under a named person and carries the date it was last checked. Our older articles were published under a generic account handle, with no author at all. That is one of the things this site was built to change.

Here is every identifier this company has, with the body that publishes it. Most of them are published by somebody other than us, which is the only kind of credential worth reading.

The association record is the strongest item in that grid, because the association hosts it. Our company registration number 125964/071/072 and our VAT number 602410649 were filed by us and are published by them1. Nearly every trust badge on a competing Everest page is an image that company made for itself. This one is a link to a database we do not control.

Government tourism license 1632 is ours to assert and ours to evidence. 17 license and award documents are published as scans3, and the association independently hosts copies of some of them. The full set, with the issuing office named on each one, is on the licenses page.

We are also affiliated with Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Mountaineering Association, Kathmandu Environmental Education Project, Village Tourism Promotion Forum Nepal and Gurung Tourism Entrepreneurs' Association Nepal. None of those bodies publishes a member by member register, so those are affiliations we state rather than credentials you can check from outside. We would rather say that in a sentence than let a row of logos imply otherwise.

Travelers have rated us 5.0 out of 5 from 104 reviews on TripAdvisor2. The same profile holds 193 traveler photos and ranks the company at 425 of 2,623 outdoor activities in Kathmandu. Those figures were checked on 12 September 2026. Read the reviews on TripAdvisor.

TripAdvisor collected those reviews, not us, and they are about the company across everything it runs rather than about one trek on this page. So they appear here as a sentence with a link, and never as a star graphic, never as a badge, and never as data hidden in the page for a search engine. That is the rule, and it is also the more believable way to say it.

Nothing in the table below is hypothetical. Every line of it has appeared on our own group’s pages at some point, and none of it appears here. Publishing a false figure about somebody else is careless. Publishing one about yourself is worse, and being the same company does not make it true.

There is no rating markup and no review markup anywhere in this site’s code, on any page, from any third party platform. Markup is the hidden data a page hands to a search engine, which is how a star rating ends up in a search result. Reviews collected by somebody else about a whole company are not a rating of the thing on our page, so marking them up here is the case the search guidelines exclude. If this site ever collects reviews of its own trips through its own form, that changes, and we will say so on the day it does.

Every figure on this site names the body that published it and the date we last read it. When a figure changes, the page changes and the page says that it did.
